Van owners are being urged to remove valuable tools from their vehicles overnight following a spate of thefts across the county.

The most recent break-in took place within the last 24 hours, when a Ford Transit van parked in Pendennis Close, Penzance was targeted at some point between 1pm yesterday and 7.40am today.

Such crimes are being reported all over the county, with vans broken into and valuable power tools and hand tools stolen.

A police spokesperson said: "We would like to hear from anyone offered second-hand power tools for sale.

"We ask for van owners to please consider removing valuable tools from vehicles, particularly overnight."

Any suspicious activity should be reported by calling101, or 999 if a person believes a crime is taking place at that moment.
