Falmouth's main street will be turned into a sea of pink for the fifth time on Friday, August 4, when the fundraising Pink Wig parade takes place.

Hundreds of women are expected to turn up in their pink wigs, with many also dressing up in this year's circus theme, to walk from The Moor down to Events Square. Pink Wig Events staged their first parade in 2009 and since then have raised over £75,000 for the Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Cancer Now with a large percentage of the money staying in Cornwall.

This year's fun will start with pre-drinks at the Palacio Lounge on The Moor from 4pm. The parade, which will be led by Falmouth Marine Band, Betty Stogs and Pink Wigs' mascot Mabel Moobs, will set off from the piazza at 6.30pm and make its way down to Events Square.

There the Pink Wig party will be held in the marquee where entertainment will be provided by DJ Nate Valentino and live band The Strutts.

Tickets cost £13.50, which includes a glass of pink bubbly on arrival at the marquee, and are available online at pinkwigevents.org.uk and from Bow Accessories, Palacio Lounge, Janellis, Fat Willy's in Falmouth and at Tanya's Courage Trust shop in Penryn.
