A flower arranging group, inspired by Poldark and the Georgian era and led by Ali Menary, gathered in Mylor last week.

Ali used British-grown flowers and invited all those attending to: "Unleash your inner Poldark." The workshop was held in the Tremayne Hall in Mylor and was organised as a fundraising event for Arthritis Care.

Ali's modern approach to flower arranging in a free flowing manner was enjoyed by the group of enthusiasts. The emphasis was on mixed colours with a blend of foliage and flowers partly brought from The Patch, the new garden created near Mylor by Ali and Rob Menary. The Patch had been opened recently for the first time also to raise money for Arthritis Care.

Those taking part had brought along some of their own flowers and the results were a wonderful riot of colour. After a welcome tea and homemade cakes, each participant took away their individual arrangements.
