A roller derby bout will be taking place at Gyllyngvase tennis courts in Falmouth on Saturday from midday in a re-run of 2015’s successful public game.

The game which is free to attend, is being co-ordinated by Cornwall Roller Derby and Pivotstar UK and is supported by St Michaels Hotel & Spa who have permitted use of their tennis courts for the afternoon. The Summer Slam event will once again be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Becky Jukes, a young player from Newquay who died in 2014.

"Skating off" at noon, the three-team tournament will see skaters from across the UK, The Heathers, Black Velvet and Neon Power, battling it out. Roller derby merchandise as well as cakes will be on sale throughout the afternoon, with proceeds going to Macmillan, while Embrace Dance Fitness will be making a musical appearance
