Cornwall is in the running to hold onto its title as the Best UK Holiday Destination for a ninth year at the British Travel Awards 2017 (BTAs).

With a phenomenal track record, Cornwall has remained at the top spot thanks to consumer votes. To help Cornwall defend its title, everyone with a love for Cornwall is being urged by Visit Cornwall to show it at visitcornwall.com/vote-for-cornwall.

A public vote against rival category contenders Cumbria/Lake District, Norfolk, Northumberland and Pembrokeshire is all that stands between Cornwall and remaining at the coveted top spot.

“We are so proud of Cornwall’s ruling reign, which is testament to the award winning tourism product we have on offer," said Malcolm Bell, chief executive of Visit Cornwall. "BTA is voted by the public and Cornwall’s winning streak shows the national’s love for our beautiful county shows no signs of stopping.

"We’re on a mission to keep Cornwall on the best UK holiday destination, and we urge everyone to get behind this campaign and cast a vote. Between us lets make sure Cornwall continues to get the spotlight it deserves.”

BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton added: “The British Travel Awards give you the opportunity to reward travel and tourism enterprises for outstanding performance in service delivery and product offering. Voting in the 2017 awards is now open and nominated companies have until 30th September to lobby their happy customers for votes – good luck to Cornwall.”

The British Travel Awards are considered the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the travel industry. The BTA is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners, Deloitte.

The winners will be announced at the BTA gala awards dinner, being held in London on November 29.
