Falmouth Week has reached its mid point, but there are still two of its biggest attractions to go - the Red Arrows display tomorrow and the fireworks extravaganza on Friday night.

Roads around the seafront will be closed to traffic from 3pm until 7.30pm tomorrow and the town centre streets will also be closed all day to accommodate the various activities, which include the RNLI fun day on Custom House Quay and the Action Sports Tour in Church Street car park.

The Red Arrows are due to perform at 6.15pm for 20 minutes, with this year's display taking place over Falmouth Bay, because of new restrictions introduced following the Shoreham air disaster.

The fireworks display will take place over the harbour from 10pm on Friday, or Saturday if the weather is poor. It will be staged once again by the award-winning Smart Pyrotechnics. The company delivers shows around the world and have won international acclaim at the British Fireworks Championships, Festival of International Fireworks and British Musical Fireworks Championships, amongst others.

The display is again being sponsored by A&P Falmouth, whose managing director, Gerald Pitts, said: "A&P has sponsored Falmouth fireworks display for many years - an event recognised as the grand finale of Falmouth Week. We are proud to be sponsoring this year's event and we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Falmouth Week.”

The display will be held on the same night as the renowned 80s vs 90s night, hosted by South West Bars and Events in the Events Square marquee. For the first time, the event will be "dipping a toe" into the 00s with boyband Blue, with support from Dario G and Beats International.

Falmouth Week sees nine days of vibrant daytime and evening entertainment. At Events Square tomorrow night it's Craig Charles' funk and soul night; Thursday it's Rudi's Message and the Counterfeit Stones will round the week off on Saturday night.

On The Moor there is live music, street food, the Brig Bar and workshops from the Creation Station and Falmouth Art Gallery throughout the week.

The shore-side schedule supports the Falmouth Week Regatta, which includes seven days of match racing for keel boats, traditional craft and dinghies in the waters off Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads and the harbour. Vantage points to catch the races include Pendennis Point and the coastal path.
