Fire breathing dragons and flying flamingos will be coming to Trebah Garden as part of a vertical dance performance by Falmouth based troupe Yskynna.

The aerial arts company will be presenting promenade show If You Go Down To The Woods Today, a memorable and modern tale told through music and movement at height, over three dates in August.

David Greeves, choreographer and director of Yskynna, said: “Join us on a spectacular voyage of breath taking vertical dance and aerial performance through Trebah Garden. This is dance, storytelling and acrobatics at an epic scale, set against a soundscape of soothing sirens in a fairy tale valley. Take care on your travels, as you're surely in for a big surprise.

“Expect a visual feast amongst the towering canopies of champion trees, If You Go Down to the Woods Today is a site specific show that revisits archetypal characters from traditional fairy tales exploring their darker side.”

Under the direction of Doug Fransisco of Invisible Circus, Trebah's open spaces and tall trees will be animated with live music and a fire breathing dragon on the beach thrown in for good measure.

Guy Watson, amphitheatre and events co-ordinator for Trebah Garden, said: “Following the huge success of last years promenade dance show Neptunalia, Trebah now aims to host a local company each year to create a new and exciting site specific performance for the garden. It’s rare that we get requests from performers wanting to fly from the treetops so we know that this one is going to be something really special.”

Tickets are available through Trebah’s website trebahgarden.co.uk/amphitheatre-2017 or by calling ticket provider Cornish Riviera Box Office on 01726 879500, and are priced at £12 for adults with concessions available.

Performances are at 6.30pm and 8pm daily from August 24 to 26.
