Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has announced that Goodmans Financial Planning have come on board as a sponsor for its upcoming Moonlight Memory Walk along with Fugro GeoServices of Falmouth.

The charity’s Moonlight Memory Walk is a five mile, ladies-only, sponsored walk around Falmouth on September 30, which sets off at 10pm. Sponsors for the event are great news for the charity as it helps to cover event costs, meaning more of the money raised by those taking part can go straight towards the care and support offered to families by the charity.

The event is a girls' night out with a difference where ladies walk in memory and celebration of their loved ones whose lives are celebrated during a Memory Ceremony before walking the five miles around the Falmouth in the moonlight.

Goodmans Financial Planning have offices in Plymouth, Totnes, Exeter and are looking to open on another office in Truro within the next 18 months. They specialise in retirement planning and are a chartered financial planning practice. Emma Gamble from Goodmans said: “The team at Goodmans are proud to have the opportunity to support Children’s Hospice South West and look forward to participating in the Moonlight Memory Walk.”

Claire Frost, corporate partnerships fundraiser, said: “We are so pleased to have the support of Goodmans Financial Planning as one of our sponsors for the Moonlight Memory Walk. Their sponsorship means a great deal to us and knowing that they are helping to cover our event costs means that more of the ladies sponsorship on the night can go towards the care we offer to local families.”

The Moonlight Memory Walk will be raising funds for CHSW which has three children’s hospices in the south west. It’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell offers care and support to children with life limiting illnesses and their families. The hospice offers short respite breaks, palliative care, emergency stays as well as end of life care and bereavement support and is a lifeline to families from Cornwall, Plymouth and the surrounding area.

For anyone wishing to sign up to the Moonlight Memory Walk the first 250 ladies can sign up for just £10 and registration should be done at chsw.org.uk/moonlight before the day of the event.
