Enys Gardens in Penryn is just one of a number of venues opening their gates as part of this year's of Children’s Hospice South West's (CHSW) Garden Trail.

The trail has been running for the past two years and each year more and more gardens come on board, opening their grounds to help raise funds for the local children’s charity. Gardens of all sizes and types are getting involved, some of which aren’t usually open to the public as well as some very unique and special gardens in the South West.

Opening on Sunday, September 3, will be Enys Gardens near Penryn and on Sunday, September 10, it will be the turn of Lamorran House in St Mawes.

Enys Gardens is a largely natural garden with an air of history and mystique is well worth a visit for those seeking an inspiring afternoon out. Features include a New Zealand flower garden, ponds, an orchard, Enys House and woodlands. There is also a history room next door to the onsite café.

Enys gardens will be open from 2-5pm, entry is £5 for adults, £4 for seniors and £2 for students and children aged six to 16. Parking is available and dogs on leads are welcome.

Lamorran House, a four acre subtropical garden overlooking Falmouth Bay, will be opening from 11–5pm. Designed by the owner in an Italian house style, there is an extensive collection of Mediterranean and subtropical plants and a large collection of Azaleas and Rhodosteo. Admission to the garden will be £5 and light lunches, cream teas and homemade cakes will also be available.

Alice Merrett, community fundraiser at CHSW, said: "We are really excited about the return of our Garden Trail and in September the opportunity to visit both Enys Gardens and Lamorran House will be fantastic. Simply by visiting a garden on our trail you are helping us to support local families."

The Garden Trail runs until October, and the final garden open in Cornwall as part of the trail will be Two Quays House in Gweek on Saturday, September 16.
