Carrick Riders' plans to create a second bike track for novice riders at Pennance Mill Farm near Maenporth have been granted approval by Cornwall Council under delegated powers.
Club secretary Chris Cumming told Falmouth councillors last week: "We have the existing track that is national standard and now we need something to engage with younger, novice riders to get their skills up before they transition onto the bigger track."
While the existing track is five metres wide, the new one will only be one metre in width. Councillor Steve Eva said: "To me it's a no brainer. It's something for the kids to do and gives them confidence on a bike."
The town council raised no objection to the application as the track will not be visually intrusive and will be screened by planting.
