Teams from the award-winning Victoria Inn at Threemilestone and the Santander high street and online banking group are joining forces for a series of high octane events to raise cash for Children’s hospice South West.

Organised by local girl Karenza Grose, who has worked at the Victoria Inn for over 11 years, the events will culminate in a sponsored parachute jump at Perranporth airbase on September 16th.

Overcoming a fear of both heights and flying to undertake the challenge, Karenza explained her reasons for defying gravity by saying, “After visiting Little Harbour Hospice in St Austell I just knew I had to do something to raise as much money as I could for this fantastic charity. The staff at the hospice go above and beyond to ensure that children with life-limiting conditions make the most out of their short and precious lives whilst encouraging and including the child’s family, so going above and beyond is exactly what I’m going to do!”

Karenza will be joined in her daredevil antics by a team from the Truro Santander branch to help raise as much as possible for Little Harbour. Jo Dawe and other members from the branch are not only putting on a parachute alongside Karenza but are also holding a Bike-athon which will see Team Vic and Team Santander going head to head throughout the day in the Truro Banking Branch on Boscawen Street on the 14th September 2017 from 10am.

Ransi Bandara, Santander South West Relationship Director said “It’s great to be able to join forces with one of our customers, Team Vic, to jointly raise as much as possibly for a charity close to our communities. Although a little nervous about the jump, the Truro branch are excited to be involved in the fund raising and are organising a cake sale in the branch alongside the other activities.”

While all donations for the Hospice will be gratefully received at the Bike-athon event, Karenza has also set up a Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Karenza-Grose and further donations will be collected at the Victoria Inn, Threemilestone or the Santander, Truro Branch.
