Two divas with a difference will be touring Cornwall as part of the Carn to Cove programme of performing arts in rural areas.

Singing duo Simon Hellier and Jenny Oldfield - aka Carmen and Mimi - are embarking on a concert tour prior to their next show.

At the same time theatrical entrepreneur Charlie Overall, played by Ben Oldfield of Cube Theatre, has booked world class opera divas Isabella Cappuccino and Svetlana Molotov for a gig. But when they fail to turn up, Charlie is forced to provide the entertainment with his limited ukulele repertoire and reluctant assistance from his teenage daughter Roxie, until tea ladies Carmen and Mimi step into the breach and assume the mantle of the missing divas, with sublime results.

The music programme will include arias by Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, Bellini, Humperdinck, Offenbach and Dvorak as well as songs from musical theatre including West Side Story, Cabaret and My Fair Lady and songs by Ivor Novello.

The show will be performed at Townshend Village Hall on September 23 at 7pm, Lambeage Hall in Coverack on October 6 at 7.30pm, Nancledra School Hall on October 7 at 7.30pm, The Centre in Newlyn on October 14 at 7.30pm, and at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall On October 28 at 7.30pm.
