Staff and customers of the disability support company Falcare were celebrating on Monday as the organisation marked its tenth birthday.

On September 11, 2007, Falcare took over from Mencap to support people in Falmouth with a learning disability, and since that day the company has gone from strength to strength and is now a thriving organisation which also offers care and support to elderly people in the community.

Managing director Sue Miner said: "We have a fantastic team of people working in an amazing way demonstrating skills and commitment to people whose needs are met through a variety of day and outreach services.

"It is due to them that we are able to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and we owe them many thanks."

Thanks to its success over the last decade, the organisation is expanding to cover Penryn as well as Falmouth.

Sue added: "We are delighted to be able to increase our premises and as well as the original building Trelowenak on Kimberley Park Road, we shall be opening an additional facility at The Learning Zone in Penryn.

The Grand Opening Celebration is at 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday, September 19, and all are welcome.

"We continue to support and care for people in the communities and wider areas of Falmouth and Penryn and hope to do so for many more years to come.

"Our company mantra is 'love this job.'"
