Three graduates of the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards were presented with their certificates at last week's meeting of Falmouth Rotary Club.

Nina Garcia, who works at the Greenbank Hotel; Jamie Gregor, from Maen Karne, and Lewis Edwards, of Pendennis Shipyard, had all completed the one-week residential course held at Brimpts Farm on Dartmoor.

The course was made up of an intensive programme of outdoor activities and tasks aimed at developing team building skills, along with a series of projects and lectures from eminent, high achieving members of the South West community.

Rotary's objective through the youth leadership awards is to inspire and develop the confidence and ability of its candidates, to teach them to become leaders in their communities and to plan for themselves interesting and useful lives.

Falmouth Rotary president Paul Wyatt handed out the certificates to Nina, Jamie and Lewis Peter Berry at the club's meeting at the Greenbank Hotel. The Falmouth club has been involved in RYLA for around 20 years.
