To help restore a Post Office service to Mullion a mobile Post Office van will be introduced next month with services provided by the postmaster for St Keverne.
The service is due to start on Friday, November 3, and will be in Mullion every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 1.30pm and 5.30pm. It will be located at RE Tonkin & Son Funeral Directors at Lender Lane.
Mullion Post Office closed at its previous location in Nansmellyon Road, on September 30 as the landlord is undertaking extensive refurbishment works which will take about four months to complete.
The postmaster also retired after more than 30 years’ service. The newly refurbished premises will re-open as the Co-op convenience store with a Post Office inside and the Co-op will then operate Mullion Post Office.
Lewis Horn, network operations manager, said: “This temporary mobile service will allow us to restore Post Office service to rural Mullion until the new branch is ready. We hope that customers will make good use of the service.”
