Perranarworthal Pre-School opened a new feature for the children last week and it's somewhere the youngsters can get messy without getting in trouble.

A new section of the garden, including a mud kitchen, water table and wooden tepee, designed for messy play, has been created thanks to a grant from Sainsbury's in Falmouth, which chose the pre-school as its charity of the year.

The grant has also enabled the school to benefit from a new garden fence, as well as new toys for its early years learning programme.

The children, staff and Sainsbury’s charity fundraising team attended an official opening of the Mud Garden. “We are thrilled with the new garden area, and the children are delighted," said pre-school manager, Elaine Savage. "Sainsbury’s fundraising support this year has enabled us to provide even more opportunities and experiences for the children, complementing our new activities, which include forest school, yoga and sports for tots.”
