All the tickets for Mawnan WI’s annual charity fashion show were sold before the event, such was the demand. Many of the audience had been to previous shows and were almost knocking on the door of Mawnan Post Office to secure their seats when the tickets went on sale. There were new-comers too - some who have just moved into the village and others who had heard about what a fantastic evening was to be had. It was a pleasure to welcome members from Mabe, Budock and Constantine WIs as well.

The stage in the village hall had been decorated with two spectacular illuminated trees kindly loaned by Kernow Productions. The magical atmosphere was echoed by the sparkling back cloth provided by Mawnan Panto Group.

The 12 models were dressed by two shops in Falmouth, March Hare and Secrets, and wore a selection of casual and formal wear. They had their makeup and hair styled by a team from The Priory and looked stunning when they took to the catwalk.

At the interval WI members served canapés and a glass of wine and the raffle was drawn. There were super prizes donated by local hotels, restaurants and businesses. Mawnan WI would like to thank them for their support.

The amazing sum of £1,500 was raised which will be divided between the two charities chosen for this year - The Merlin Centre and Penhaligon’s Friends.
