Mylor Lunch Club celebrated its tenth birthday last Tuesday with cake and sparkling wine. Roger Deeming made a short speech thanking the "Lunch Club lovelies" for all their hard work over the ten years. Following a major restoration of the Tremayne Hall in 2007, Sarita Perkins and her committee set up a lunch club which has operated continuously ever since. Eight teams of helpers work on a rota to make soups and desserts for about 40 local over 60s. In addition they have hosted some major parties in the village, including celebrations of the Queen’s Jubilee and her 90th birthday. We all hope that the Lunch Club will continue to be successful for many years to come.
