There were horns and helmets galore at St Francis Primary School in Falmouth recently as pupils enjoyed a Viking day to help get into their latest topic.
Year four children had spent time learning about the ancient community, discovering there was more to them than just raiding and pillaging, including a trip before the half term holiday to the National Maritime Museum.
They also had the opportunity to design Viking helmets and shields, as well as the dragon headed prow for their very own cardboard long ships, and drew a map showing the spread of the different Viking groups before preparing for their very own trading mission.
Class teacher Chris Dove said: "They have really gone to town, putting in the effort and making their costumes. They all look fabulous.
"And they have learned a lot from the experience."
