Two members of the public had to stop an assailant who tried to follow a 16 year old into a Pool takeaway after punching and kicking her in the street.
Police are investigating following the assault, which happened near Heartlands on Sunday, November 5.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Trevenson Road, when the 16 year old girl was walking towards the Subway store. She was approached from behind then pushed, punched and kicked.
Police said: "Two members of the public intervened to prevent the suspect from entering the Subway store to follow the victim."
Officers are appealing for these two people, and any other witnesses, to contact them to assist with their enquiries by calling 101 quoting crime reference CR/096364/17.
