TRADITIONAL family pantomime Peter Pan opens at Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 5 December.

And with tickets flying out the door this is becoming the theatre’s fastest selling panto ever.

Join Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Wendy and The Lost Boys on a swashbuckling adventure with laughs-a-plenty, live music, flying and audience participation guaranteed!

This year’s extravaganza is being produced by the same in house production team that brought last year’s sell-out run of Cinderella: James Barry (Writer and Director), Simon Slater (Music) and Rachel Fox (Production Design). Returning to the cast this year is the extraordinary Julian Eardley as the wonderful dame Mrs Smee and last year’s Dandini, Nichole Bird as Peter Pan. Joining them are Winchester panto newcomers Jonathan Hansler (Hook, Mr Darling), Ed Thorpe (Smee), Louise Peters (Mrs Darling / Mermaid) Eleanor Bennett (Wendy) and Indigo Griffiths (Tiger Lily).

The professional actors will be joined by a cast of local children playing the roles of The Lost Boys and dancers.

This year’s run includes several Access Performances. There are two BSL signed performances for deaf and hearing impaired audiences and an Audio Described performance for visually impaired audiences where audience members can listen to a narrator describing the action on stage. There are also two Relaxed performances. Relaxed performances have an informal atmosphere and allow people who may need to move around, make a noise of take a break the chance to see a show without worrying. The auditorium lights will be brighter and loud noise and bright, flashing lights will be removed. This is ideal for those on the autistic spectrum, or with sensory or communication disorders, a learning disability or anyone who may be afraid of the dark.

The pantomime is an adaptation from the novel Peter Pan by JM Barrie. It is presented by arrangement with Samuel French Limited and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity who will receive royalties from this production.
