Pupils from four of Falmouth's five primary schools took up the invitation from the town's mayor to make decorations to hang on the Christmas tree in the foyer of the new information service on The Moor.

Falmouth Primary Academy and St Francis, Marlborough and King Charles schools, all jumped at the chance to create ten hand-made decorations each and then nominated three pupils to go down to meet the mayor, Grenville Chappel and his wife, June.

The children were all greeted at the town council chamber in the Municipal Buildings where they enjoyed Christmas biscuits, chocolates and juice, before heading next door to the former Post Office building. Here they were invited to hang the decorations their school had made on the tree.
