POLICE have now confirmed that the body of a man was discovered in a shop doorway in Falmouth this morning.
The area around the Salvation Army Hall in Brook Street was sealed off after reports of a dead body being found.
It has been reported locally that the body was that of a homeless man in his 40s who was originally from Scotland and had been in the area since the summer.
Forensics officers were seen entering the building in Brook Street and tarpaulin has been draped over the main entrance.
Paramedics and ambulances are at the scene.
The force says it was first alerted at 8.40am.
A police spokesman said: "Police responded at 8.40am this morning after reports of an unresponsive man in the doorway of a shop in Brook Street.
"An ambulance attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Scenes of crime officers sealed of the area to investigate the circumstances of this death."
