Six team members from Penryn-based heating company Blue Flame have spent a hair-raising month fundraising for charity.
Paul Smith, Simon Foxhall, Duncan Impey, Ian Davidson, Matt Dennison and Chris Hughes, all took part in Movember. The moustachioed team raised £1,145 for men’s health charities.
Blue Flame director, Simon, who dyed his whiskers blue, said: “I’m really proud of the team for coping with the itching, looking silly and putting up with banter from friends, family and colleagues to raise over £1,000 for a great cause.
“I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated and helped us beat our target. As a company we like to support good causes on a local and national level, and this was a great way to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer amongst the team.”
Movember is an annual event with a simple idea: to grow a moustache in November and raise money and awareness of men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancers.
The team are still taking donations, which can be made at uk.movember.com/donate/payment/team_id/2294967.
