The planning appeal into controversial proposals to build student accommodation on the former Coachworks' site in Falmouth's Penwerris Lane has been postponed until the new year.
A public hearing had been due to take place at Falmouth Rugby Club tomorrow (Thursday), but has been called off after amended plans were submitted by developers, AGR Living Falmouth Ltd.
Cornwall Council refused the planning application which sought permission to demolish the workshops on the former quarry site and replace them with a 135 bed student accommodation scheme which included a common room, laundry, office, bin store and secure cycle storage.
The developers lodged an appeal against that decision with the Planning Inspectorate, but at the last minute have submitted amended plans. A new date for the appeal hearing is expected to be confirmed soon. In the meantime, the amended plans can be seen by searching for planning application PA17/01167 at cornwall.gov.uk.
