TEENAGE midfielder Jack Webber scored his first goal for Falmouth Town on Tuesday evening as they recorded a memorable victory at defending SWPL Premier champions Tavistock.

Webber's header nine minutes from time - just 60 seconds after coming on as a substitute - meant Town leapfrogged their Devon opponents and now sit in third spot.

It was a cagey game throughout with few clear cut chances for either side, before the hosts were awarded a penalty in the 80th minute.

Ryan Barnes saved the spot kick and from James Ward's clearance, Luke Brabyn found substitute Ollie Walker, who raced down the left and crossed for Webber to head home at the back post.

It is sweet revenge for Town, who suffered a 7-0 defeat at home to Tavistock on the opening day of the season.

Helston Athletic also recorded a much needed win with a 3-0 home success over Callington Town.

After a goalless first half, Dan Stidwell's close range effort put them in front after 69 minutes, before Phil Cattran's splendid half volley doubled the advantage six minutes later.

An own goal two minutes from time ensured the three points which takes the Blues beyond last season's points tally.

Helston visit Camelford on Saturday while Falmouth make the long trip to Stoke Gabriel.
