A public vote will decide whether a local charity that organises educational outdoor activities for disabled children will receive around £42,000 in funding or not.

BF Adventure, which is based near Halvosso, gives people the opportunity to take part in activities like paddle sports, rock climbing, zip line, and archery. The group's headquarters are based in an ex quarry with 60 acres of land for activities.

Adrian Richards, CEO of BF Adventure said: “We urge local people to get behind us. If successful, our project will make a real difference to our local community by providing young people with disabilities the ability to spend time away from their families and try new challenges, whilst allowing parents and carers a much needed break. Also for families to mix with others and enjoy activities in the knowledge all their needs will be met.

"This is an exciting opportunity to raise awareness and support for our work and, with your help, to secure further much-needed funding."

Joe Ferns, UK Funding Director of the Big Lottery Fund, said: “As the largest funder of community activity in the UK, we are proud to support grassroots groups that are using the vision, determination and drive of local people to strengthen communities. The People’s Projects showcases the best of these and is a chance for you to have your say on how National Lottery funding can benefit your local community.”

The charity will be competing with four others in the South West for the chance of being awarded funding, with three winners being decided by way of a public vote.
