Cornwall Hospice Care are delighted to announce the Cornish charity’s fourth annual Great Cornish Cake Bake Day.

This year the event falls on Friday, May 4 and has prompted organisers to introduce a Stars Wars theme.

Judy Lawton, a Cornwall Hospice Care Community Fundraiser, said: “We think it’s very fitting that it’s our fourth Great Cornish Cake Bake Day, given that we are holding it on Friday May 4th this year.

"Invitations have been sent to all previous participants of this simply cake-tastic day and we’d like everyone with a love of cake to join in.

“We’re really excited about this year’s cake bake day. Whilst we normally hold it on May 6th which is National No Diet day, we decided to hold it this year on Friday May 4th and introduce an inter-galactic theme.

"You might be lucky to buy an Obi-Bun Kenobi or a Princess Chelsea Bun or even glimpse Darth Vader or a Storm Trooper in our the shop on the day.”

Judy adds: “We are lucky that so many people, groups, WIs, shops and businesses from Bude to St Just take part. Last year they collectively raised nearly £8,000, all from baking and eating cake at events large and small.”

If you would like to take part in this year’s Cake Bake Day please call 01726 66868 (option 3) or email fundraising@cornwallhospice.co.uk.
