A concerned resident sent in these pictures of a mysterious green substance in the water at Swanpool Nature Reserve.
The reader who sent the photos in to The Packet suspected that the odd colouration was because of pollution from a nearby industrial estate.
The Environmental Agency has been contacted and is currently looking into the matter to try and find out the cause of the bright green hue in the water.
In August of last year (2017), there was a pollution scare at Swanpool when dozens of fish died overnight and were found floating on the surface of the water.
After the Environmental Agency conducted tests on the water, it was determined that pollution was not what killed the fish, but in fact a dramatic change in oxygen levels thought to have been caused by algae.
If you have any clues as to what has caused the water at Swanpool to turn green, please leave a comment below.
