Businesses from Falmouth and Penryn have been recognised for their success and diversity in the Cornwall Business Awards 2018.

Jeremy Sneller from Penryn won Entrepeneur of the Year with his business TouchByte, which uses face recognition technology to help businesses; Sanders Studio in Falmouth won the Most Creative Use of Design award for their use of interactive virtual reality as a real estate selling tool; and Eight Wire in Falmouth won the Excellence in Digital Marketing award.

Judge Allyson Glover of Unlocking Potential said: "“Jeremy [Sneller] is visionary entrepreneur, not prepared to compromise and committed to the ground breaking use of technologies. He is the best networker that I have met and by using the contacts that he has made, he has formed brilliant relationships with the Cornish business community. TouchByte is a really exciting business that is going to be here for many years to come.”

Judge Toni Eyriey from Business Cornwall said: “Eight Wire delivered an inventive, interactive, relatable and jolly good fun digital marketing campaign that saw an increase in revenue and market presence for Halto. Congratulations!”

The awards were organised by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth and Skills Hub and held at St Mellion International Resort.

The awards, which are now in their 13th year, saw trophies awarded across 16 categories. Covering everything from sustainability to innovation and customer focus, businesses from St Austell to St Agnes on the Isles of Scilly featured in the awards.

Stu Anderson of the Growth and Skills Hub said: "A huge and heart felt congratulations to all of the winning businesses. It is these businesses that are putting Cornwall on the map and adding weight to the burgeoning reputation for innovation, creativity and excellence for which the region is increasingly synonymous,”
