A VALLEY garden nestling by the Helford River will be open to the public for a day next month as part of the National Garden Scheme.

Navas Hill House garden is opening on Sunday, May 6 from 2-5pm to raise money for charities including Macmillan, Marie Curie and Hospice UK,

"We really enjoy our open day," says Aline Turner, garden owner.

"People are so generous and kindly. It has enabled us to raise several thousands of pounds for such worthwhile charities."

The eight and a half acre garden has paddocks, woodland, kitchen garden and ornamental areas.

The ornamental garden consists of two plantsman areas with specialist trees and shrubs; walled rose garden; with water features and rockery.

Young and established wooded areas with bluebells, camellia walks and young large leafed rhododendrons. There are plenty of seating areas with views across wooded valley.

A big feature of the garden is the ‘All You Can Eat’ cream tea, with homemade scones and cake.

There will also be entertainment from a local singing group. There is plenty of parking available.
