A ONE-WOMAN crimewave has been sent to prison for 38 weeks after admitting a string of offences before Bodmin magistrates last Thursday.

Damaris Ellen Pettit, (aka Bryant), of Cliff Road, Falmouth, stole charity boxes from various venues in the town and also Penryn.

The 38 year old also pinched alcohol and food, failed to provide a specimen of blood in relation to an alleged driving offence and also failed to surrender to custody.

Her charges were as follows:

* Stole meat and a bottle of gin worth £70 from Baileys Country Store, Penryn on April 18

* Stole a staff tips jar belonging to the Star and Garter pub in Falmouth between April 18-20

* Twice stole a charity collection box from Harbour Lights fish and chip shop, on April 16 and again the following day

* Stole two charity boxes from Falmouth Garages, Penryn, on April 7

* Stole a bottle of pink gin worth £13.99 from Select Convenience, Falmouth on March 12

* Failed to provide a specimen of blood when in charge of a vehicle in Bournemouth on April 24

Pettit was already serving a suspended four-week prison sentence for the following offences, which became active because of her continued offending. The original offences were:

* Stole a Cornwall Air Ambulance charity money box to the value of £40 in Falmouth on April 11

* Stole three bottles of alcohol worth £47.97 from Select Convenience, Falmouth on March 24

* Stole meat from Waitrose, Okehampton, worth £75 on January 14

* Stole desserts from Okehampton worth £6 on April 5

* Stole a Morphy Richards Supervax worth £109.49 from Okehampton on March 22

* Failed to surrender to custody on September 18, 2017.

She was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £83.99 in compensation.
