There was a good sized gathering from Penryn RFC at Bishop's Stortford yesterday as Cornwall played Hertfordshire.
The four Penryn players donning the Black and Gold yesterday - George Jones, Adam Hughes, Mitch Vague and Sam Hitchens - were joined by a group of supporters from The Memorial Ground who gathered to watch the Bill Beaumont Cup tie against Hertfordshire at Bishop's Stortford RFC.
Committee members Trevor Howells and Chris Lea were joined by Ricky Hitchens, Penryn player George Mitchell and Penryn U15s' Nathan Howells at the Silver Leys ground.
Penryn honorary secretary Trevor Howells said: "It was a wonderful Borough day despite the result. When I was talking to Hertfordshire fans, they were amazed that players from a Level Eight club competed so valiantly against Level Three players. Pride isn’t a term I use lightly but today Penryn can be so very proud of their boys."
Hertfordshire's win will see them at Twickenham next Sunday to take on perennial finalists Lancashire, who won the Northern group on points difference from Yorkshire.
