Police would like to speak to a tractor driver who was using the A30 on the same night as a pedestrian lost his life over the weekend.
A collision took place near at Scorrier at around 1.15am on Saturday, involving a small silver van and a man in his twenties. The man, reported to be from the local area, died as a result of his injuries and his next of kin are being supported by officers locally.
The police investigation team now want to speak to anyone driving a tractor or agricultural vehicle on the eastbound carriageway of the A30, between Avers roundabout and Chiverton Cross, between midnight and 12.30am on Saturday. The vehicle was displaying a flashing amber beacon and was towing a plough, or similar type of implement.
Officers are also appealing for any witnesses driving in the area at the time of collision to come forward and speak with them.
Anyone with information can contact police by emailing 101@dc.police.uk or calling 101 quoting log 71 of Saturday, May 19.
The road was closed for almost seven hours while police carried out investigations at the scene, with the stretch reopening just before 8am on Saturday.
