The Star Inn in St Erth relaunched at the weekend following a £95k investment.

The pub, which is owned by Punch and run by Darleen Jordan and her partner Martin, has undergone substantial redevelopment to bring this cosy, old world, traditional pub back to life.

As well as the traditional interior design, the pub is bringing back to St Erth a new Fish and Chip ‘shop’ where customers can sit in the pub to enjoy a chippy tea, good drink and entertainment.

Alternatively, there is the option to have a quality ‘takeaway’ service.

Publicans Darleen and Martin are local fishermen and aspire to one day even be able to feature a ‘catch of the day’ on the menu !

Until this time, most products served will be locally sourced from the South West area. Darleen is also very proud that the chip shop will be operating a 90 per cent plastic free policy.

Darleen said: “We have created a great family orientated environment for all of our customers to enjoy. We want the Star to be a place for people to enjoy and really feel at home.

We have had great support from Punch in re-launching the pub and we are very much looking forward to bringing the Star back to the very heart of the community.’’

Publican development and training manager, Helena Perry added: “We’re delighted to invest in great community pubs like the Star Inn.

"Darleen and Martin have some great plans to deliver a fantastic customer experience and they have our full support.

"I look forward to working in partnership with Darleen and Martin as they grow their pub business."

The Star reopened to the community over the weekend and celebrated with a host of events including the Royal Wedding, FA Cup final and hosting a Community barbecue for customers new and old to enjoy after the village Duck Race was won!

The Chip Shop opens on Thursday, May 25.
