PENRYN mayor Shelley Peters presented a cheque for the sum of £2899.53 to her Charity for the civic year 2017-2018 to Michelle Bray from Tanya’s Courage Trust at the annual mayor-making ceremony last Thursday.
The proceeds were made up of various fund raising events over the year, some of which included coffee mornings, a Valentine Ball and Christmas raffle.
Her charity for the civic year 2018-2019 is the Royal British Legion, Penryn Branch.
The event also saw Lorna Smuda retire as the mayor’s church warden after more 30 years of dedicated service. The new warden is Annie Jones.
