A NIGHT time search was launched by The Lizard lifeboat for three disorientated people of 'foreign nationality' who were on board a yacht running very low on fuel (Editor's note - there must be a metaphor for Brexit in there somewhere).

A lifeboat spokesman said: "The lifeboat launched on service shortly after midnight on Monday, May 21 to go to the assistance of the nine metre yacht running very low on fuel with three people on board who were disorientated and of foreign nationality.

"With the help of other vessels in the area, the yacht was finally located in a position of 31 miles south of Lizard Point. On arrival at the scene a tow rope was passed and the yacht was safely towed in Falmouth arriving at 8am. The lifeboat arrived back at the station at 9am to a hearty breakfast thanks to former shore crew member Sarah Legge!

"After several busy days at sea for the lifeboat and her crews, we were pleased to welcome RNLB Rose back home to Kilcobben Cove on Friday 25th May after her time away undergoing routine maintenance.
