A MAIN route into Falmouth was the scene of an accident between a car and motorcyle this afternoon.

The motorcyclist, aged 18, suffered minor injuries after colliding with a car on the roundabout outside Falmouth Rugby Club.

Dracaena Avenue, Western Terrace, CHard Terrace and Tregenver road all converge at the busy roundabout and traffic was delayed following the accident at around 2pm.

Police redirected traffic around the scene of the crash.

Later in the afternoon, a serious incident took place in Newlyn, near Penzance, when a 61 year old man was injured after being in collision with a cyclist.

The incident took place near Jelbert's ice cream shop and was sealed off by investigation officers after the pedestrian was taken to Treliske Hospital with head injuries.

The incident happened around 5pm and the road was closed for three hours.
