A FALMOUTH man who was almost three times over the drink-drive limit has been banned for more than two years.

Benjamin Walker, aged 40 of Avenue Road, committed the offence in a white Mercedes Sprinter near the May Tree pub in Clodgey Lane, Helston, on June 15.

He had 103mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath, with the legal limit 35mcgs.

He pleaded guilty and was banned for 28 months. He was also fined £1,166 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £116 victim surcharge.

  • A DRIVER who committed speeding offences an astonishing 19 times in a five-week period has been banned from driving for nine months.

Brian Eric Mawer, aged 59, of St Clements Close, Truro, admitted the offences, which took place in two different locations in Newquay, in each case exceeding the 30mph limit.

The offences took place between December 18 2017 and January 24 this year.

He received a nine-month ban and was fined £22.

  • A PENRYN man who failed to identify the driver of an alleged offence has been fined £400 by Bodmin magistrates.

James Byron Clarke, aged 40, of Hill Head, admitted committing the offence on January 19. He received six points on his licence and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and £40 victim surcharge.

  • A PENRYN couple who failed to notify a change in circumstances which would have affected their housing benefit have appeared before Truro magistrates.

Richard George Kellow, aged 29, of Round Ring Gardens, dishonestly caused or allowed his wife to fail to give a prompt notification to Cornwall Council, when he knew it would affect her entitlement.

Rebecca Lee Kellow, aged 34, was charged with failing to notify the council of a change in circumstances.

Both pleaded guilty, and Mr Kellow was handed a community order with 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

Mrs Kellow received a conditional discharge for two years and was ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

  • A WOMAN whose child failed to regularly attend Penryn College has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 by Truro magistrates.

Joanne Louise Prynn, aged 35, committed the offence between September 4, 2017 and March 28, 2018.

She was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £569 and a £66 victim surcharge.

  • A MANACCAN man who drove without insurance or a licence has been fined £1,450 by Bodmin magistrates.

Daniel John Collins, aged 27, of Minster Meadow, admitted committing the offences on December 28 at Penboa, Helston.

His licence has been endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and pay £145 victim surcharge.

  • A HELSTON man who drove a motorbike without insurance or a licence has been fined by Bodmin magistrates.

Paul Gary Rushforth, aged 27, of Charter Close, admitted committing the offences from Clodgey Lane into Tesco car park on December 8.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.

  • A DRINK driver received a suspended prison sentence after being found to be three and a half times over the limit.

Derek Rogers, aged 50, of Glowgarth Villas, Redruth, had 121mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath when he drove a Vauxhall Zafira in Camborne on May 13.

It was his second drink drive offence in ten years and he received as 12-week jail term suspended for 12 months.

Rogers, who pleaded guilty, was disqualified from driving for three years and also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

  • A REDRUTH man who drove a Peugeot without insurance has had his licence endorsed with six points.

Joel Francis, aged 20, of West End, admitted committing the offence and also driving without a licence on April 23 at Illogan Highway.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

  • A WOMAN who drove without insurance or a licence on the A39 in Penryn has been fined £275.

Charlotte Alice Rose Jeffries, aged 27, of Roskear Road, Camborne, admitted committing the offences on April 30.

She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and had six points put on her driving record.

  • A CAMBORNE man who drove without insurance has been fined by Bodmin magistrates.

Michael Lennard Pooley, aged 21, of Talveneth, pleaded guilty to the offence on April 24 in Camborne.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.

  • A PENSIONER has been fined £500 for a speeding offence at Roseworthy, near Camborne.

Keith Skinner, aged 73, of Chenhalls Close, St Erth, admitted the offence which took place on March 13 in a Vauxhall Corsa.

His licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 victim surcharge.

  • A MAN who drove a BMW with two defective tyres has been fined almost £400 by Bodmin magistrates.

Aiden Jay Matthews, aged 26, of Bell Veor, Lanner, pleaded guilty to the offences which took place in Redruth on April 21. The fine for each tyre was £189.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.
