A FALMOUTH man has just completed a remarkable 100-mile walk on the rugged Cornwall Coast Path in just two days.

non stop apart from food breaks to raise funds for Lowen Ward at Treliske Hospital.

Paul Miller's journey started at Carbis Bay last Friday and took him all the way around the beautiful Land's End and Lizard Peninsula before arriving at Swanpool Beach Falmouth where he was greeted by his many supporters.

The 53 year-old trains on a daily basis and said: “I did this walk for Lowen Ward where my friend Donna Jane Andrew was being treated for cancer last year, before she sadly passed away, just before Christmas."

He has so far raised just over £1,500 for the Lowen Ward which treats people with cancer.

Paul was born in Falmouth and before serving in HM Forces for 12 years. He now works in a local Rowe's Bakery.

With a passion for the great outdoors, he is a volunteer for the South West Coast Path Association, a charitable organisation set up in 1973, which aims to “promote the interests of users of the South West Coastal Path”.

It measures 630 miles from start to finish.

The Lowen Ward specialises in looking after haematology, oncology and palliative patients with a range of specialist Nurses who provide excellent care and support to their patients. Paul commended the staff for their kind and caring ways and the brilliant job they were able to do.

Paul added: “I would like to put the money I raise towards any new equipment that the ward requires. At the end of the day, every penny they receive helps towards something on the ward.”
