A MOTORCYCLIST has received "serious life changing injuries" following a collision with a car on the A390 in Cornwall this morning.

The male motorcylist was heading towards Truro when the incident occurred at approximately 11.27am on Sunday, July 15 on the A390 at East Taphouse, Cornwall.

The collision caused a four-and-a-half hour closure of the road while an investigation took place.

The collision occurred at the junction of the A390 and Highway in East Taphouse where a blue coloured Peugeot 307 driven by a 59-year-old female from Liskeard was exiting Highway and pulled out in front of a 57-year-old male motorcyclist from Plymouth who was heading towards Truro. 

The male rider, who was airlifted to Derriford hospital, has received serious life changing injuries as a result of the collision.

The police are appealing for any witnesses to please ring 101 and quote 402 of the 15th July 2018.

They would also like to thank the members of the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.
