Sixth Form students from Camborne Science and International Academy enjoyed their annual Summer Ball on Friday July 13.

Vice Principal at CSIA, Sarah Belshaw, commented “All our students have worked incredibly hard and for many of them, this was their last celebration as a year group before they embark on the next step of their journey.”

The Summer Ball was held at the Falmouth Hotel with over 140 students and staff arriving in glamorous frocks and sharp suits to a crowd of family, friends and staff for an evening of dancing and fun.

“Our event is for Year 13s who are leaving, but also for the Year 12s who have also worked very hard this year towards their AS levels," said Sarah. “The event always creates such a sense of excitement and it certainly lived up to everyone’s expectations!”

Students and staff enjoyed a three-course meal before filling the dance floor which was packed until the very end. “Many of our Sixth Formers have been at CSIA since Year 7, so we all felt a great sense of pride when we look at how far they’ve come and what they’ve achieved in their time with us.”

Year 13 student Laura commented “It was the most amazing evening and one that I’ll remember forever. I can’t believe we are leaving!”

Abbie in Year 12 commented “We all had the best night together and reminisced about all the memories we’ve shared over the past year.”

Sarah added, “Our Summer Balls are always such special evenings because we have a chance to celebrate and reflect on what has been a wonderful couple of years. We wish all Year 13 students every success in the future and we look forward to staying in touch with their progress.”

“Our students have worked exceptionally hard and we’re very proud that they leave CSIA as well-rounded, skilled individuals who are highly sought after by the best Universities” added Principal at CSIA, Ian Kenworthy. “We look forward to seeing them on A-level results day in August before they start the next stage of their journey!”
