People living in and around St Keverne and Coverack are being urged to get involved in creating a new document that could help prevent unwanted planning developments.

A meeting is being held in St Keverne Parish Hall this Thursday, at 7pm, about setting up a group to write a neighbourhood plan - but it needs input and support from the community.

Anyone in the parish can take part, including the coastal areas such as Porthallow and Porthoustock, and the more rural hamlets such as Traboe.

The document will look at what people want to see happen in the parish over the coming years - and what they don't want.

Once accepted, Cornwall Council will refer to the document when deciding on planning applications and issues such as housing, roads and facilities.

Before that, a whole parish vote must be held, with a majority needing to support the plan.

More information will be given on Thursday by Cornwall Council officers, before a sub-committee of parish councillors and members of the public is set up to start writing the plan.
