A police car and two other vehicles collided outside the entrance to Richard Lander School on the A390 near Truro today (Wednesday July 25) at 2.29pm.
An eyewitness said that the cars looked as though they were "write-offs," and that the bumper on the police car and the suspension on another vehicle had been badly damaged.
An ambulance attended the scene and paramedics treated two patients for chest pains and hip pain before taking them to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske hospital Emergency Department for further treatment.
According to another eyewitness, the aftermath of the collision suggested that the police car was pulling out of the side road onto the A390 when another vehicle collided with it.
Traffic remained backed up on the A390 going into Truro at 4.10pm as a lane was closed, however traffic moving in the opposite direction was still flowing normally at the time.
