Large crowds filled St Keverne on Wednesday for the first sunny Ox Roast in a number of years.
The main fundraising event for St Keverne Band, it brings the whole village together for a day of music, stalls and competitions.

One of the highlights of the event is always the auction of the first slice of the ox, which has been roasting over a spit all morning.
The village square was packed as guest speaker Toby Roskilly carved the slice to be auctioned by Ivor Mann of John Coad and Son, with it selling this year for £165, bought by the Three Tuns pub.

All three sections of St Keverne Band then entertained visitors throughout the afternoon and into the evening, interspersed with music from the Gerry Lee Duo and the Kerrier Choir.
This year was particularly special for two band members, Ben and Immy, whose 18th and 16th birthdays respectively fell on the same day as Ox Roast. One of the band mums, Ali Rand, baked a joint cake that was presented to them as the band led a rendition of Happy Birthday from all gathered.

In the church hall, St Keverne History Society set up an exhibition marking the centenary of the end of World War One and how the conflict had affected the parish.
