Travellers crossing the River Fal on the King Harry Ferry this morning were delighted to be accompanied by some unexpected escorts - a small pod of dolphins.
The beautiful creatures, attracted by the warmer Cornish waters following weeks of hot weather, could be seen swimming and playing as the ferry made its crossing between Feock and the Roseland Peninsula.
A spokesperson for Fal River Cornwall, the company that operates the ferry, said: "They headed back out towards the Carrick Roads, so thankfully not lost or at risk of beaching."
