TRAFFIC is likely to be slow on the A30 near Scorrier during rush hour this morning after a digger fell off the back of a lorry which then hit a bridge last night.

One lane of the westbound carriageway remains closed between Scorrier and Avers Roundabout at Redruth, following the incident at 11pm.

Highways England this morning said the lane will be closed for several hours because of significant damage to the road surface.

A diversion was put in place and motorists were asked to take the A3047, which runs parallel to the A30.
