Rogue Theatre has a spellbinding double bill this summer and it’s a tangling of well-loved tales from the heart of the fairy tale forest.

Wild is a fast paced, funny, mischievous and spellbinding show in the woods mixing some of the theatre group’s favourite fairy tales including Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Beauty and The Beast and Sleeping Beauty.

This immersive theatre adventure starts with an enthralling journey along the wandering paths of the breathtakingly beautiful Tehidy Woods North Cliffs.

The audience journeys through the trees and has chance meetings with wolves, witches, faeries, princesses and fairy tale creatures that weave them into the magic of the wild world.

The paths follow the scent of wood smoke and twist together in a clearing, where the audience gathers in the grand theatre of trees. Here the tale comes to life.

Wild is an eye popping, heart pumping, spirit raising, laughter making feast for the senses and is designed for wild minds and those whose imaginations like to wander.

The show part of the event is about an hour, leaving time to party afterwards and enjoy free face painting, woodland craft making, woodland vegetable stew served from the cauldron.

There’s also refreshments and, of course, wild music so you can dance on the stage with the beauties, beasts, fairies, witches and wolves of the wild world.

The second tale that Rogue Theatre is presenting this summer is Firebird. This story is designed for brave hearts and wild imaginations.

It’s a stirring, spellbinding, heart pounding, majestic and riotous feast for the senses combining vivid imagery, wild theatre that takes place all around, incredible live music, breath taking dance, immersive battles, supernatural visions and a beautiful story.

Firebird tells a tale of astonishing and dreadful beauty, about fire, about forgotten magic, revenge and the consuming flames of desire.

This is a tale of a Celtic warrior queen, a new world with new kings, the unrestrainable force of savage love and the cost of stealing from the old gods.

Both plays are written by Ollie Oakenshield and Directed by Angelina Boscarelli and they simply can’t be missed.

If there’s one event you go to this summer, make it this. It’ makes for the most magical of evenings, truly bewitching. The addition of the party for younger members is fantastic fun to cap off a fine tale.

The plays run from Friday until Sunday, September 2. Tickets cost £8.50 and under 3s go free.
