A man who became stuck climbing the cliffs at a beach on the Lizard Peninsula had to be airlifted to safety.
The man became trapped halfway up the cliff at Kennack Sands yesterday evening and the coastguard was called just before 8.45pm.
First on the scene was Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team who, due to the instability of the cliff and the tide coming in, drafted in the help of the 924 Coastguard Rescue Helicopter and Porthoustock Coastguards.
The climber was rescued by the helicopter winchman and lowered to the beach, where he was checked over by the coastguards.
