The long-awaited return of Mullion Post Office and launch of the village’s new Co-op store has taken place.

The store has opened in the former post office building on Nansmellyon Road following a £1.4 million refurbishment and investment from Co-op, providing 20 full and part time jobs.

It sells the usual range of fresh fruit and vegetables, ready-to-go meals, alcohol and store cupboard essentials, as well as having an in-store bakery, cash machine, self-scan tills and paypoint.

Mullion Post Office has also returned to its former premises - this time as part of the new Co-op store.

Daniel Kitchener, Co-op store manager said: “We are delighted to have undertaken such a significant investment in Mullion and are very proud to be part of this community.”

New opening hours will now be Monday to Sunday, 7am to 10pm.

Local people on the Co-op’s membership scheme will receive a five per cent reward on the purchase of own-brand products and services, with Co-op donating a further one to causes, including locally Mawnan School PTA, Falmouth Surf Lifesaving Club and Cats Protection Falmouth & Helston Branch.

Students with an NUS card receive a ten per cent discount.
